A one-day excursion to the Ouzoud waterfalls is located 170 km from Marrakech, in the Middle Atlas section, near the province of Azilal, in the M’goun Geopark. The Ouzoud waterfalls are one of the most visited and recommended attractions for day trips from Marrakech. A 3-hour drive from Marrakech, you can discover the highest waterfalls in Morocco (around 110m), take a guided hike around the waterfalls for a couple of hours, visit one of the ancient mills at the top of the waterfalls, sail in local boats to cross the river, and access the bottom of the falls through a shaded path of olive trees where some Barbary macaques may greet you along the way.
Enjoy delicious local food on one of the terraces of local restaurants and cafes. The Ouzoud waterfalls are a very popular site for Moroccans, especially in summer, as it is a perfect place for a refreshing swim (Bring your swimsuits), it can be crowded during weekends.
One-day excursion to the Ouzoud waterfalls
You will be picked up at 8 a.m. from your hotel/ Riad in Marrakech by one of our colleagues, an English-speaking driver, and travel in an exclusive licensed air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival in the Ouzoud area, we will arrange a local guide at our expense, so you can go on an impressive hike (Bring walking shoes or baskets) to enjoy the waterfalls surrounded by green fields, orchards, and the Elabid river gorges, where a scene from the reality TV show “Expedition Impossible Morocco” recently took place. Your one-day excursion will end in the afternoon with drop-off at your accommodation in Marrakech around 6 p.m.
