Day Trip to Imlil from Marrakech

Imlil and the foothills of Toubkal, The village of Imlil is only 70 km (1h30 by car in each direction) from Marrakech, located in the foothills of the Toubkal ascent, the area is also called Toubkal National Park, the last step before the summit of Toubkal, that’s why Imlil is the main hiking base for Toubkal climbers. Short hikes available to Armed, Tizi N’Tachdirt, and Chamharouch. Imlil is home to many lodges and guesthouses, cafes and restaurants, and visitors can see that it has been commercialized for over a decade.

Leaving behind Marrakech, on a journey through a vast landscape planted with olive trees and where the fields are separated by a natural border made of prickly pear cactus. En route to the Atlas Mountains and the high and lush valleys, we will pass through Tahanout (known for a weekly market on Tuesdays) and then through the vibrant little village called Asni (very popular for its traditional market on Saturdays, where you can make a stop). After Asni, we turn left and continue a few more kilometers to reach Imlil. From here, you can take a walk around the village or ride a mule for a short hike and reach the Kasbah of Toubkal, where you can have lunch and enjoy the view of the green gardens.

You will be picked up at 8:30 a.m. from your hotel/ Riad in Marrakech by one of our colleagues, an English-speaking driver, and you will travel in an exclusive licensed air-conditioned vehicle. On this guided private day trip to Imlil, you can go hiking with a local guide or take a short mule ride to reach Kassbah Toubkal, where you will have lunch and enjoy the view of the green gardens and the blue sky.
