3 Days from Marrakech to Fez via Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Gorge

we will start our 3 Days from Marrakech to Fez via Merzouga in Marrakech and driven to Ouarzazate through the dramatic Tizi-N-Tichka pass (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on the winding road through the Berber villages. Arrive at the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, a UNESCO matrimonial historical site which is now a house of many Glaoui family members. We will have lunch at the Kasbah and continue to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”. And crossing the road of the thousand Kasbahs with its fascinating sand castles and Kalaat Mgouna, the roses city known for its annual festival during the rose harvest in May, and then continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dades Gorge.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga

After breakfast in the hotel, we will drive back through the valley to see the amazing rock formation “the monkey toes”, and the still standing 19th century Kasbah of Ait Yul. We leave the Dades valley towards Tinghir and the Todra valley, enjoying the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. On arrival to the Gorge we will walk under the 300m high red cliff, where many Rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. We continue our trip to Erfoud and Rissani where we have lunch. Afterwards, we leave for the village of Merzouga where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check into your Hotel .

Day 3 : Merzouga – Fes

We will wake up early in the morning, to go on our camel trek to watch what will may be the best sunrise of your life. Afterwards, you’ll peacefully camel trek back to your riad for breakfast. Enroute you couldn’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes changing with the light as the day progresses, before continuing to Fes via Errachidia along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass to Midelt.

Arrival at Zaida to enjoy a barbecue and a refreshing glass of mint tea then continue our journey to Azrou, a berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains, before we stop to see the Barbarian apes in the famous Cedar forest. On the road to Ifrane “the French village” we stop for a picture or a drink then drive to your hotel in Fes where the tour end of our 3 Days from Marrakech to Fez via Merzouga.
