3 Days from Fes to Merzouga desert and Fes

1st day : Fes – Ifran – Azrou – Midelt – Er-Rachidia – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi

3 Days from Fes to Merzouga, After we met at the place that we had agreed upon. We will start our tour to the southeast through the middle Atlas via Ifrane the Moroccan Switzerland” then Azrou where we will have a stop at the famous cedar forest the largest in Morocco for to see and play with Barbary apes. From here we drive further south passing by several towns and you will get the opportunity to view nomads living in tents on the way. Then we will stop in Midelt where you will enjoy your lunch.

Later on, continuing our drive to Merzouga through the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m) while enjoying the panoramic views. Also, you will have to stop for a panoramic view of Aoufous Palmera along the Ziz River. At the end of the day, we will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, (Merzouga ). Arrive at the hotel where you will spend the night.

2nd day: 4×4 Tour Around Erg Chebbi dunes

After breakfast, we will start driving to explore the small villages around Erg Chebbi dunes such as Khamlia Merzouga and Hassi where we will have a stop at the garden to see the canal irrigation system. Then continue the drive toward Merzouga. See Dayet Srji Lake that forms in springtime which attracts locks of pink flamingos and wildlife; Bird-watchers will enjoy this peaceful area. On our trail to Khamlia known as the village of black people who were slaves coming from Sudan. we expect to meet locals showing their desert foxes. also, encounter desert mammals and reptiles In Khamlia, We will be hospitably welcomed with a cup of tea (Whiskey Berber) with their spiritual Gnawa music.

Leaving Khamlia our next stop may for a Picnic lunch under the shadow of a tree is on the panoramic view of golden dunes near the Algerian border. then continuing to visit a Nomad family living under Berber tent and who are taking care of a herd of cattle, goats, and camels.

Back to your hotel to have a rest and a mint tea before starting a camel trekking across the sandy dunes of the erg-Chebbi. Camel trek across a desert landscape, you will enjoy the beauty of the sunset on camel, after 2 hours you will reach to the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent. After a wonderful dinner, there will be a campfire and drums playing, diner, and overnight in Berber tent.

3rd day : Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud Midelt –Azrou –Fes

Make sure to wake up early to witness the beautiful scenery of sunrise from the top of the next highest dune Afterwards, you will peacefully ride your camel back to your Riad appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes, changing with the light as the day progresses. After taking a shower and breakfast in the hotel, you will leave to Fez via the High Atlas mountains. On the way, we’ll pass through Rissani, Erfoud, Errachidia, Medilt, and Azrou where We will stop for lunch and enjoy. then arriving at Fes where Our guide will make sure you reach your chosen Riad or Hotel. Here we will leave at your Riad or Hotel.
